With the years, the suppleness decreases , the stiffness increases and the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis are felt. The chiropractor is able to assess the different concerns of our seniors about their pain and discomfort and offer them a safe and appropriate treatment for their condition. Seniors can also consult their chiropractor to maintain good joint mobility and prevent the disadvantages of advancing age .
The chiropractic approach
The chiropractic treatment will consist in mobilizations that restore the good synergy between the vertebral and nerve structures, thus reducing the accumulated stiffness . The chiropractor will promote the relaxation of muscles by working soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia). The goal of chiropractic care is therefore to reduce pain, restore the biomechanics of the region and prevent the recurrence of painful episodes . The prescription of a stretching program may be proposed in order to maintain good flexibility.
